Dr. Barbara Z. Larson is an Executive Professor of Management at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University where she has been teaching since 2012. Her research focuses on the personal and interpersonal skills that people need to work effectively in virtual (computer-mediated) environments, and she is working with a variety of collaborators to develop training methods and materials to enable more productive virtual work. Prior to her academic career, Professor Larson worked for 15 years in a variety of international finance and operations roles at several multinationals, most recently as Director of International Finance at R.R. Donnelley. She received her doctorate (D.B.A.) in Management at Harvard Business School, her M.B.A. in Finance and Operations Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and B.A. in Spanish from the University of Virginia. She currently lives in Brookline, MA with her husband and son.
